Local Inspiration: Grant’s Entrepreneurial Spirit is Making Waves in York

01/13/26

In the heart of York, Maine, a young entrepreneur is proving that you’re never too young to make a massive impact.

Grant, a local student and artisan, has turned a thoughtful holiday gesture into a thriving business that celebrates Maine’s coastal charm.

From Holiday Gifts to High Demand

Grant’s journey began: he wanted to create meaningful holiday gifts for his teachers. He settled on crafting high-quality tea towels, but what started as a classroom gift quickly caught the eye of the community.

His talent didn't stay a secret for long. Last year, the town of Kennebunk reached out with a special request for their annual Prelude celebration. Grant designed custom tea towels featuring a lobster and a star, which became an instant hit. This momentum led him to the Makers Market, where he held the title of the youngest crafter in attendance.

Where to Find His Work

You don't have to look far to see Grant’s designs. His towels, known for their local flair and quality, are currently stocked at some of the most iconic spots in the area:

Teaching the Craft

Grant isn’t just selling a product; he’s sharing his passion. At the Cliff House, he leads workshops teaching others the art of tea towel making. It’s a rare sight to see a young maker leading a room, but Grant’s expertise and local success make him a natural educator.

A Heart for Giving Back

At Anchor, our Give Back program is the engine that drives us. We believe business should be a force for good, and nothing has brought us more joy than seeing that philosophy take root in the next generation.

As part of Anchor’s Give Back Campaign, we invite our inspirations to select a local charity of their choice for a donation made in their name. Grant selected a veterans program administered by Janie Sweeney at YSCA.

Grant recently announced that he has been inspired to donate 10% of his profits to the community. To ensure his contributions make the biggest impact possible, he is collaborating with Mike Taddie, York’s Community Engagement Detective, to facilitate his donations.

"To see a young entrepreneur like Grant prioritize his community as much as his craft is exactly why we do what we do."
The Anchor Team

Grant is more than just a "young entrepreneur"—he is a staple of the York community and a reminder that inspiration is a two-way street.
