Supporting Dignity Through Everyday Essentials
At I Support the Girls, the mission is simple yet powerful: to help women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, or crisis maintain dignity and health. They do this by providing essential items many of us take for granted—bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products.
This quarter, this cause is especially meaningful to our team. As part of our giveback campaign, each quarter one of our agents selects a cause they are passionate about. For this quarter, this is Kate Dionne’s passion project. Through this initiative, we make a donation as a company and then spend the quarter working together to raise additional awareness and contributions to further support the organization and its impact.
What makes this organization especially impactful is its “collect locally, donate locally” model. With a strong network of affiliates across the United States and beyond, donations from individuals and corporate partners are distributed directly into the communities where they’re needed most. These items reach shelters, schools, refugee centers, correctional facilities, and disaster relief efforts—ensuring access where it can make an immediate difference.
“Six years ago, I had the opportunity to attend an affiliate meeting, and it completely changed my perspective. It was there that I truly saw the depth of impact 'I Support the Girls' has. Whether supporting someone facing homelessness, helping an individual escape a domestic violence situation, or assisting families forced to make impossible financial decisions, these resources matter more than many realize.
In many cases, hygiene products are among the first things to be sacrificed when budgets are tight. Thanks to ISTG, schools can now provide free products to students who might otherwise go without—helping them feel confident, supported, and able to focus on their education."
These are everyday essentials that are easy to overlook—until you hear the stories of those who have had to live without them. Once you do, it becomes clear just how meaningful even the smallest act of giving can be.
